Here is a poem I wrote about addiction, the relapse, and recovery.
Don’t cause a collision because of a dumb decision, Free yourself and work hard for your wealth focus on improving your health, Marry the one for your new life has begun.
Couple of years go by, look at your wife’s belly, she has a glow your family is about to grow, So slow down, enjoy your life do amazing things be someone to look up to, get a clue and make it you.
Friday night order some food, show respect and don’t be rude, No more scraps unless you relapse, you could fall and lose it all, your house your wife your kids your life.
Find help hang up the bad habit, stair addiction in the eye and stab it, set your mind free then you will see the joy you bring to your family, They love you they care so don’t you dare give it up just to nod off in a chair.
You addiction slave, turn it around, the road ahead is yours to pave. It’s hell it will suck you will be down on your luck angry thinking why the fuck did you start it wasn’t smart, You wander if it will get better wish you could write your younger self a letter, But it will clear and you will heal getting past this is real.
It will be worth it you will value your life you will enjoy your days, your thoughts won’t feel like a maze. But never let your guard down because addiction is there ready with hell to raise.
Cherish life it goes way to fast, and just like that it passes by and you lose the twinkle in your eye, then after years and faces filled with tears, your loved ones show up to say goodbye because you die.
